SHELDRICK WILDLIFE TRUST SPONSORED RUN BY ELEPHANTS ON WIMBLEDON COMMON

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

Elephants did a sponsored run in May, on a very soggy and muddy Wimbledon Common

Last month I went to watch the sponsored run in aid of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which helps to protect and conserve wildlife in Kenya. They help run an orphans’ project for orphan baby elephants among other things. The runners all dressed up in baggy elephant suits, with tails at the back. Not a good look! At the end of the run their legs were covered in mud almost to the thighs.  Friend Rhiannan was running, while Max and I waited in the Windmill cafe on the Wimbledon Common.  Coffee and bakewell tart.
